Shammah Park is located in the RAMSAY, EAST GREENMOUNT area south of TOOWOOMBA. The area is synonymous with the writings of Arthur Hoey Davis (Steel Rudd) who was the author of the classic Australian stories including ’On Our Selection’ which led to the ‘Dad and Dave ‘radio series. The property was once used for dairying using a large scale rotary dairy which milked fifty cows per revolution. Part of the dairy still stands today. A large silage pit in the front paddock was used to store feed for the cattle.

Shammah Park was established by Joan and Allan STOTT in 1998 and converted to a cattle breeding property using Santa Gertrudis bloodlines to achieve the desired traits in all of the claves that are born. Our cattle are very quiet and docile and have an excellent temperament and are therefore very easy to handle. The calves are very playful and also very inquisitive.

The homestead is positioned to command sweeping views of the entire property from the wide verandahs and our beautiful gardens come to life at night with our sola light displays.

Just 1.3km off the New England Highway the property boasts and abundance of wildlife including pink galahs, various species of other birds, wallabies, kangaroos and whatever else you can spot. Our beautiful picturesque creek flats only run with water in the wet season and provide an abundance of feed for many months of the year. We only have one watering point for the cattle near the homestead, which means we can keep a constant eye on them when they come home for a drink.

The property is ideally positioned and centrally located within a comfortable driving radius from the many attractions in and around Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. Depending on the season and rainfall you can also enjoy the splendor and color of the sunflowers and other crops as they come to life throughout the different seasons.
